About

The People

Zach is a software engineer who got curious about a question: can AI write fiction that actually moves people? Not the kind of curiosity you Google and forget — the kind that turns into late nights, hundreds of experiments, and eventually a novel-in-progress.

Philippe is his collaborator on Enemies in Arms. Together they’re pushing the boundaries of what AI-human creative collaboration can produce, treating the AI not as a tool that executes instructions, but as a creative partner that needs the right conditions to do its best work.

The Project

Enemies in Arms is a war novel. It’s about two soldiers, loyalty, impossible choices, and what people owe each other when everything falls apart. It’s also an experiment: can this kind of story — one that depends on emotional truth, on readers caring about characters — be written with AI?

We think the answer is more interesting than a simple yes or no.

The Question

The deeper project here isn’t just about one novel. It’s about understanding what happens when AI meets the most human of human activities — telling stories that make people feel something.

We’re documenting the process, sharing our reflections, and publishing chapters as we go. If you’re interested in AI, creativity, or the future of writing, follow along.
